It has begun (again).
Yes, yes, I know what you're thinking, "what a nerd." Or maybe you're the type to think, "gosh some geeks are so hip." Or you're possibly in a third bracket that thinks, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix, that's so 2003. We're into Twilight and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo now."
Well the truth is, I started reading this book well over a year ago, possibly even over two years ago. I've been directly in the middle of the book for what seems like forever. I've even seen the movie. I know what happens. But not in the book. I have finally given in, and picked up this massive volume in the world famous Harry Potter series, yet again.
With this weeks much anticipated theatrical release of the first half of the final film, you could say I'm excited about the series again. I even played some of the Lego Harry Potter game the other day. So to all you naysayers I say this, "At least I'm reading books."

The art of craft.
This quilt was handmade by Deborah as a gift. It's a beautiful and intricate quilt with excellent details.

Zippy's bean with cheese.
I went to see a trainer today at my gym. He was super nice and set me up with a good workout routine. But today I was unprepared for what he had in store for me. I didn't eat anything before I went to workout, which apparently was a big no no. Needless to say I was exhausted after the workout. It took a while to regain my strength.
I decided to reward myself after the events of the morning. I treated myself to a Zippy's bean burger with cheese. I do so love Zippy's bean burger. I'm told their other burgers are great also. But I'll stick with the bean burger.
Here's some info on Zippy's Giant Hamburgers.

She loves boxes
Whenever I get a package in the mail, it's like I get something and the cat gets something also. If I'm excited to open some box, the cat sits next to me and gets excited too. After I take the contents out, she spares no time getting in the box. She can sense an empty box like a crackhead can sniff out crack.

I heart Seattle
Seattle has been my home for several years now and I have grown to love it. For several reasons it is the ideal city to live. One of the best things about the city is how beautiful it is. Almost every neighborhood has some unique offering to it's visitors and inhabitants. While Seattle isn't the largest city on the West Coast, it still offers great cultural and economical value which make it one of the more important cities in the US. To me, Seattle is my home and playground and I love it.

While the gettins good
Sometimes beautiful moments only last a moment. This spectacular sunrise only lasted a few minutes from start to finish. All these amazing colors that you see were plain and gone almost as fast as they came.

Hard boiled.
We keep our fridge fully stocked. Some of my favorite items in the fridge are hummas, eggs, cheese, mustard, oj, Ginger ale, beer, yogurt, and hard boiled eggs. Not to be confused with the 1992 John Woo movie Hard Boiled, which I also like, but I don't keep that in the fridge.

Beyond the looking glass.
We have had some beautiful weather the past few days here in the Pacific NW. I got to enjoy it mostly from indoors, but it was pleasant. It was pretty warm for November.

On the road.
I'm on the road a lot these days. Not traveling far distances, just putting in a lot of miles. My days are long. Sometimes too long with little free time. But staying busy is a good thing.
This is a shot of the sunrise from a few weeks ago. Now I don't even see the sunrise during my morning commute. It's just pitch dark and rainy. But hey, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Aces high
Yes, this is the same plane from an earlier post. But I like this shot better. I think the lighting is more stunning and the angle allows you to see the excellent theme on the plane.

Look at those lines
By now, most of you must know how much I love architecture. And I love more than just beautiful high rise buildings and wonderful modern compemtorary homes. But this building pictured above is a different type of masterpiece, and it strikes a different chord with me. This is the new science building at school. It's pretty much brand new and holds a LEED silver certification. I hand a class in this building a few quarters ago and it was a pleasant experience. Your surroundings can certainly affect your perception, and I enjoy seeing this building as well as studying within it.
In other unrelated news, the San Franscisco Giants swept the Texas Rangers today 9-0.

The 7 habits.
I understand this isn't a great photo in the traditional sense. But sometimes the things that inspire us don't have color, or a physical outline. I find much inspiration in books. The 7 habits of highly effective people is a must read for anyone looking to improve themselves.

Night owls.
Walking around Emily's house, you can see owls everywhere in every room - on the walls, bookshelves, toilet and stove. They come in all shapes and sizes, and each find has a unique story about it's origin. The funny thing is, Emily doesn't remember why she started collecting owls. But her 100+ owl collection is constantly growing. And if you listen closely, you might hear them calling in the dead of night.

I'd rather be a killer whale.
This is the killer whale sculpture in downtown Vancouver right on the water front. It's in the same area as the olympic torch. This photo shows a close up of this beautiful sculpture and how it's made of "digital" cubes, just like a giant Lego set. If you have a chance, I would highly recommend going there on a sunny day.
